Who you are dealing with
The business is run by Adam. When you ring, you speak to the engineer who will do the work, quote the job and come back if anything needs looking at afterwards. There is no call centre and no salesperson in between.
Bournemouth Air Conditioning Ltd was incorporated in June 2022, company number 14166201. We work across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset area, on domestic and commercial systems, and we travel further where a job warrants it.
Fully F-Gas registered and certified to handle refrigerant gases safely and legally.
Preferred installer of Mitsubishi systems, but happy to work with any brand you choose.
What F-Gas certification actually involves
F-Gas is not a badge you buy. It is a City and Guilds assessed qualification in the safe handling of fluorinated refrigerant gases, covering recovery, leak detection, brazing and pressure testing, decommissioning and record keeping, with both a written and a practical assessment.
Legally, nobody may install, service or decommission a system containing refrigerant without it. In practice, plenty of people do. The consequences land on the customer: a void manufacturer warranty, refrigerant vented instead of recovered, and on a commercial system a building owner in breach of the regulations. Ask any engineer for their certification number, including us.
What we will not do
- We will not quote over the phone. A price given without seeing the wall, the pipe run and the electrics is a guess, and guesses get revised upwards on the day.
- We will not top up a leaking system and call it a repair. Under F-Gas a known leak has to be found and fixed.
- We will not sell you a bigger system than the room needs. Oversized units short-cycle, dehumidify poorly and cost more to run.
- We will not push a maintenance contract on a domestic customer who only needs one visit a year.
- We will not take on a job we cannot do properly. If it needs three-phase power or scaffolding we do not have, we will tell you rather than improvise.
