    Coastal properties

Anything within a mile or two of the coast, and that is most of the Dorset conurbation, puts an outdoor condenser in salt-laden air. Standard coils corrode faster near the sea. On coastal installs we specify anti-corrosion coated coils and site the condenser away from the prevailing salt spray where the property allows it.

It costs slightly more up front and adds years to the unit.

    Older and listed property

Dorset has a lot of period housing, thatch, and conservation areas, particularly in Wimborne, Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Blandford. Siting an outdoor unit on a listed building or in a conservation area needs care and sometimes consent. We survey for it rather than discovering it on installation day.

    Rural properties

Single-phase supply limits what you can install on larger rural properties. On anything over a certain load you are looking at a three-phase supply or a multi-split arrangement designed around the limit. We check the incoming supply at survey, before anything is ordered.

    Common questions

We cover most of the county, from the conurbation out to Blandford, Dorchester, Weymouth and Sherborne. If you are right on the edge, ring and we will tell you straight whether it is workable.

Yes. Salt in the air corrodes standard outdoor coils faster, so on coastal installs we specify anti-corrosion coated coils and site the condenser out of the prevailing salt spray where the property allows.

Often yes, but siting matters and consent is sometimes needed. We survey for it rather than discovering it on installation day.
